My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Christie Ridgway’s Take My Breath Away is a pretty typical contemporary romance novel full of instant and unwanted attraction, flawed, stubborn characters, steamy sex scenes, and just a hint of danger. I felt that the Linus/Charlie subplot was a distraction from what was going on between Ryan and Poppy. It was unnecessary and I found myself rushing through those scenes. Still, it was an enjoyable, quick read (if a bit drawn out toward the end) and I will probably read more of this series. I am really interested to hear Brett’s story.
